For many women, the womb holds not only physical significance but emotional and symbolic meaning, a center of creativity, intuition, and the sacred feminine. Womb healing and restoration offers a gentle space to reconnect with that part of yourself. It is emotional and spiritual support, not a medical treatment. (See the sacred feminine.)

What is a womb healing retreat?

Through breath, somatic awareness, ceremony, and reflection, womb healing offers space to release held tension, process emotion, and restore a sense of connection and self-compassion. It honors the feminine body with tenderness, making room for whatever needs to be felt, joy, grief, or simply rest.

Emotional support, not medical care

To be clear: womb healing is a wellness and emotional practice, it doesn't diagnose, treat, or cure any physical or reproductive condition, and isn't a substitute for medical or gynecological care. For physical concerns, please see a qualified provider. It pairs naturally with sacred feminine ceremony. Explore a personal retreat or book a discovery call. On the physical side, gentle hands-on work such as chiropractic care with a qualified practitioner can be a supportive complement during a stay, with the same clear line between wellness and medicine.

If you want this work held one to one, a personal retreat gives it the time and privacy it deserves.

Readers who arrive here usually want one of three things. Some want the lineage behind the practice, which the ancient wisdom of spiritual fertility healing carries. Some are weighing the practical path, where fertility treatment costs, USA versus Mexico and the rise of fertility tourism in Mexico set the context. And some are already coming, for whom how to prepare for a fertility retreat is the next read.

If your path includes trying to conceive, our natural fertility retreat guide says honestly what a retreat can and cannot offer.

What the days look like around this work

A session of this kind is one hour in a day that has been kept quiet around it. Mornings hold gentle movement in the shala or nothing at all. The session itself is usually mid morning or late afternoon, in a private room, with the practitioner and you and no one passing.

What follows is rest, not another session. The cenote-fed pool, a hammock, a meal eaten slowly. Emotion that comes up in the room tends to keep moving for the rest of the day, and the day is left open so it can.

Over a stay of four or five nights, two or three sessions is usual, with a full day between each. More is rarely better here.

How to choose a practitioner for womb work

Ask what she was trained in and by whom, and how long she has held this work. Ask what she does when a guest cries, and what she does when a guest wants to stop. The answers tell you whether the room will be safe before you are in it.

Ask what is physical and what is not, so nothing surprises you. At Lunita the practitioners are women, the work is by consent step by step, and the team will tell you plainly who would hold your session before you book it.

In short

Frequently asked questions

What is womb healing?

Womb healing is a gentle, emotional and energetic practice focused on helping women reconnect with their body, their sense of the sacred feminine, and any feelings held in this part of themselves. Through breath, somatic awareness, ceremony, and reflection, it offers space to release tension, process emotion, and restore a sense of connection and self-compassion. It's emotional and spiritual support, not a medical or gynecological treatment.

Is womb healing a medical treatment?

No, womb healing is not a medical treatment. It is a wellness and emotional practice; it does not diagnose, treat or cure any physical or reproductive condition, and it is not a substitute for medical or gynecological care. For any physical health concerns, please consult a qualified healthcare provider. What it offers is gentle emotional and spiritual reconnection.

Who is a womb healing retreat for?

For women who feel disconnected from their body or from their sense of the feminine and want space to meet that gently. People come after loss, after a long medical journey, after years of pushing through, or with nothing dramatic at all beyond a wish to feel at home in themselves again. No prior practice or belief is needed.

What happens in a womb healing session?

You are guided through breath, gentle movement, your own touch where you choose it, and time to rest with what comes. It is emotional and energetic work rather than physical treatment, held in a private space by a woman trained to hold it. Nothing is done to you that you have not agreed to first, and you can stop at any point.

Can you do womb work while menstruating?

Yes, and many women find the days of their bleed are when the work sits most naturally. The session is gentle, mostly breath and awareness, with any touch being your own and by your choice, so nothing about it is affected by the cycle. Tell the practitioner where you are in your month and she will shape the hour around it. Rest afterwards counts for more on those days.

How many womb sessions does a short retreat include?

Two or three sessions is usual across a stay of four or five nights, with at least one full day between them. The gap is where the work settles, so more sessions do not mean more progress. On a personal retreat at Lunita the number is set with you before arrival and can change once you are there, in either direction.
