Chiropractic Care: A Complementary Practice for Renewal

Weathered hands press into the bare back of someone lying on a blue-striped cloth, Lunita Jungle Retreat

Physical tension and the body's alignment can quietly affect how we feel. Chiropractic care is a gentle, hands-on practice focused on the spine and joints, and it can be a supportive part of a wellness retreat when provided by a qualified professional. Here's an overview. (See somatic bodywork.)

What is chiropractic care as a complementary, hands-on practice?

Performed by a licensed chiropractor, chiropractic adjustment of the spine and joints may help some people with mobility, posture, and easing everyday discomfort from stress, tension, or old strain. It's one of several body-based supports that can complement rest and reconnection on a retreat. Bodywork like this is one thread among many, and a personal retreat at Lunita lets you choose which practices fill your days.

Always with a qualified practitioner

Chiropractic is a clinical practice and should only be performed by a trained, licensed chiropractor, never improvised. If you have any health conditions or injuries, consult your doctor first. It's a complementary wellness practice, not a substitute for medical care. Explore a personal retreat or book a discovery call.

Frequently asked questions

What is chiropractic care, and is it offered?

Chiropractic is a hands-on practice in which a qualified, licensed chiropractor adjusts the spine and joints, which some people find helps with mobility, posture, and easing everyday tension or discomfort. When offered as part of a retreat, it should always be performed by a licensed chiropractic professional. It's a complementary wellness practice, not a substitute for medical care.

Who should perform chiropractic adjustments?

Only a trained, licensed chiropractor. Chiropractic adjustments are a clinical practice and shouldn't be improvised. If you have any health conditions, injuries, or concerns, consult your doctor first and let the practitioner know. Chiropractic can complement a wellness retreat, but it's not a replacement for medical diagnosis or treatment.

Is chiropractic care safe during a retreat?

It is safe when a licensed chiropractor performs it and unsafe when anybody else does, which is why it is never improvised here. The practice works on the spine and joints and can help some people with mobility, posture and everyday discomfort from stress or old strain. If you have a health condition or an injury, speak to your doctor first: this complements medical care rather than replacing it.
