About Lunita · Our Approach

Safety, Integration,
and Sacred Intention.

Not a protocol. A practice. Seven years of refinement in the Mayan jungle.

How We Work

At Lunita Jungle Retreat, plant medicine ceremony is approached as a complete arc — not a single night, but a process with three essential components: preparation, ceremony, and integration. Before a guest arrives, they complete a preparation call with a facilitator, follow a dieta protocol, and undergo medication and health screening. During ceremony, a 4:1 guest-to-facilitator ratio ensures every person is specifically held by an experienced, trauma-informed guide throughout the night. After ceremony, Lunita provides structured integration support — on-site circles and check-ins during the retreat, and follow-up resources for the weeks beyond. This approach is what distinguishes a responsible plant medicine retreat from a psychedelic experience with a price tag.

The Four Pillars

Four things
everything is built around.

01

Preparation as part of the medicine.

The week before you arrive is not a waiting period — it is the beginning of the process. Every guest completes a preparation call with a facilitator, follows a dieta protocol, and undergoes medication and health screening before their spot is confirmed. What you do before ceremony shapes what becomes possible inside it.

02

A 4:1 ratio. Every ceremony.

During every plant medicine ceremony at Lunita, each facilitator is responsible for a maximum of four guests. That means from the moment the medicine is served until the ceremony closes, you have a specific person watching over you, available to you, and accountable for your wellbeing. No one moves through ceremony alone.

03

The land as active participant.

This isn’t a backdrop. The jungle, the cenote water, the solar power, the silence, the 5,000 planted trees — they all affect what happens here. Nature does something to the nervous system that no built environment can replicate. Retreats at Lunita are designed to use that.

04

Integration built in — not bolted on.

Integration — the process of understanding and embodying what arose during ceremony — is as important as the ceremony itself. Lunita includes structured integration sessions in every retreat program. On-site circles and check-ins during the retreat, and follow-up resources for the weeks beyond. What a guest does with their experience in the months after ceremony determines whether it changes their life or becomes a story they tell.
