Booking & cancellation policy.

The short version

Booking confirms with a 25% deposit, another 25% lands midway, and the final 50%, plus food and extras, is due 15 days before your retreat. The deposit is non-refundable except in force majeure or when the cancellation is Lunita's fault; the second payment is refundable if you cancel at least 120 days out. A security deposit on day one comes back at the end, minus any damage. The precise terms follow.

1. Who this policy covers

These are the terms for renting Lunita for a hosted retreat, the contract between Lunita and the retreat organizer. If you're an individual guest joining a retreat or booking a personal retreat, the terms that govern your reservation are stated in your booking confirmation; questions before then are welcome at info@lunitajungleretreat.com.

2. What the rental includes

The rooms. Eight rooms, single or double occupancy, each with a queen bed and an additional single bed, an en-suite bathroom, and eco-friendly toiletries at no charge: towels, blankets, shampoo, conditioner, and soap included. Each room opens onto its own private garden, furnished with a table and chairs and surrounded by vegetation. A powerful fan and mosquito-netted windows keep the climate comfortable; pure water is sourced directly from the underground cenote, and unlimited drinking water is always available by the restaurant.

Restaurant and bar. A chef for the entire duration of the retreat, working to the agreed menus and times, with waiter service scaled to the number of participants across the agreed hours.

Cleaning. Daily basic cleaning throughout the retreat. Requests outside what has been agreed are invoiced separately.

Maintenance. A maintenance technician is present at Lunita for any unexpected needs that arise. This does not include the cost of interventions caused by damage or neglect attributable to participants.

3. The payment schedule

Rental:

  • 25%: accommodations deposit, due upon signing for the retreat
  • 25%: due halfway between the booking date and the retreat date
  • 50%: due 15 days before the start of the retreat

Food: 100% due 15 days before the start of the retreat.

Extras (transportation, experiences, excursions): 100% due 15 days before the start of the retreat.

Security deposit: 100% on the first day of the retreat, returned at the end after deducting any damage.

4. Cancellation terms

The deposit is non-refundable. If the organizer cancels the reservation, Lunita retains the deposit, except for reasons of force majeure (war, political or socio-economic events, pandemics, or epidemics).

Confirmation of reservation occurs upon signing the contract and receipt of the 25% deposit. If the deposit is not paid within the specified term, Lunita reserves the right to cancel the reservation without any liability toward the organizer.

For payments after the deposit: if the organizer cancels the contract after the second payment has been made, the second payment is refunded when the cancellation is communicated at least 120 days before the start date of the rental period; otherwise it is retained by Lunita.

No-show: if the organizer does not appear, Lunita is entitled to payment of the entire rental fee established in the contract.

The exception in your favor: the non-refundable deposit is returned to the organizer if the retreat center is unavailable or unusable due to causes attributable to Lunita.

In all the cases above, Lunita may also seek to rent the retreat center to other parties.

Common booking questions

What is the deposit amount, and is it refundable?
The deposit is 25% of the rental fee, due upon signing the contract. It is non-refundable if the organizer cancels, except in cases of force majeure (war, political or socio-economic events, pandemics, or epidemics), or if the cancellation is caused by Lunita.
What is the payment schedule for booking a retreat at Lunita?
Payment is split into three stages: 25% deposit due upon signing; 25% due halfway between the booking date and the retreat date; and the remaining 50% due 15 days before the start of the retreat. Food and extras are also due in full 15 days before the retreat.
Can I get a refund if I cancel after making the second payment?
Yes, if you cancel at least 120 days before the start date of the rental period, the second payment (25%) is refunded. If you cancel less than 120 days in advance, Lunita retains that payment.
What happens if Lunita is unable to host my retreat?
If the retreat center is unavailable or unusable due to causes attributable to Lunita, the non-refundable deposit is returned to the organizer in full.
