Lunita Jungle Retreat Center · Puerto Morelos · Riviera Maya · Mexico
I amThe jungle around me has been here longer than I have. In the morning, before any human voice, you’ll hear the dawn with its sounds: the trees, the birds, the slow percussion of leaves. The first morning belongs to the jungle. Then it shares.
But I am not only trees and silence. Everyone who reaches me carries something with them. Some come to stop and find themselves again. Some come to create their own retreat. Some bring their people to do the work that matters.
Stay. Wander. Take your time. The right door will find you.
THREE WAYS IN
The tunnel at the entrance leads into my jungle. It is one alone, yet it knows how to become different for each soul: I change shape for whoever arrives, so that whoever arrives may, in turn, change too.
FOR LEADERS
The first of my guests guides a retreat for their people. They were looking for a place to hold them and theirs like an embrace — and I made it for them.
Never more than twenty — I welcome up to twenty people at a time: enough to be together, never so many that you lose sight of one another.
Who welcomes them — With them is my family, who have welcomed others more than a hundred times and call each person by name. In my home there are no cold numbers.
Why they come back — The one who guides arrives carrying everyone’s weight, and here someone cares for them too. In less than four years, sixteen have already come back to choose me — and not just once.
FOR SEEKERS
The second of my guests travels in search of themselves. Alone, as a couple, with a friend or with the whole family: I always welcome them, with the same warmth.
A program shaped around you — I don’t hand out the same path for everyone. Nico sits beside you, and together you draw the journey you truly need.
For every reason — To find yourself again, to grow close to the one you love, a longing for a child, a tiredness that won’t lift, a grief, a life changing its skin.
With or without the ancient medicines — Some choose their help, some prefer to go without. Neither path is more right: I’m here, however you choose to move.
FOR TEAMS
The third of my guests brings their own team. And no — these are not days indoors in a meeting room, with a yoga mat tossed in a corner.
Led by someone who lived the corporate world — Before Lunita, Lorenza spent thirty-five years both building businesses in Italy and working for large multinationals. She knows in her own skin what a team truly needs.
Built around what cracked — My creators listen for what broke — the trust, the talking, the feeling of being one — and shape the days around that, and only that.
Long enough to look up again — Here you don’t pretend to be fine for a few hours. You stay long enough for the distances to melt, and you go home looking one another in the eyes.
THE ORIGIN
Nico carried his vision for five years. His mother Lorenza — thirty-five years between building businesses in Italy and roles in large multinationals — said yes to him, and came to build it with him.
THE PLACE
I am an intimate place, magical and full of energy: I welcome twenty guests, not two hundred — because this is how I wish to be.
I have the gift of being just forty minutes from Cancún International Airport, yet a world away.
I stretch across five thousand square meters, wrapped in more than eighty thousand square meters of jungle that protects me and those who come to me.
FOR GROUPS
When a group stays with me for three nights or more, four ceremonies come with the booking. I hold them myself, with intention, at no extra cost.
A Mexican shaman opens the retreat with a permission ceremony: for the land, the four directions, the four elements. I welcome your group before any activity begins.
Nico, a photographer for twenty years, captures the most beautiful images of the retreat. They last for years: memories for your guests, and for you the truest record of how it felt.
Toward the end, the group plants something together — a tree, a shrub, whatever the land needs. It stays, it grows, and a piece of you remains with me.
A wish of Lorenza’s, inspired by Apapacho — “to embrace with the soul.” You paint your hands and arms in intense colors and embrace one another: the color reaches all the way in.
There’s a new step I love, here in my jungle: I’ve begun co-designing retreats, together with facilitators I truly know — not by name, but because they’ve crossed my tunnel dozens of times. My creators have just launched it. Five ideas are already taking shape inside me, each born from a retreat I longed for that didn’t yet exist.
Are you a facilitator? Do you have a vision that, in tune with me, could put down roots here? Tell me about yourself and your idea. This is where it all begins.
THE PROOF
Sixteen. That’s how many retreat leaders have come back to host with me again. A little more than three and a half years since I opened, this is the number I’m proudest of — more than the ratings, more than the Travelers’ Choice award, more even than the number of retreats I’ve hosted. Because you only return to the places where you felt at home.
Sol and Luna. My two dogs, who walked out of the jungle the very week of my first retreat, and decided to stay with me. They live free among my trees, and every morning they come by the cabins asking for cuddles. Those who meet them once ask me about them for years. They are the true guiding spirits who roam among my ancient trees, bringing even more life to this magical piece of Mexican jungle.
