The Property & Facilities

Where will I stay?
In one of eight cabanas or the private mini-apartment, set within the jungle. The center holds up to around 20 guests. See the property.
What's the food like?
Meals are prepared fresh, with plenty of local ingredients and flavor. Most dietary needs are easy to accommodate. Just tell us in advance.
Do you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes: vegetarian, vegan, allergies, and most other needs. Let us know when you book so the kitchen can plan around it.
Is there wifi?
Yes. Starlink gives us reliable internet across the whole property, so you can stay connected if you need to, or switch it all off, which the jungle makes easy.
Is there phone signal, or is it a true digital detox?
Lunita has reliable Starlink wifi across the whole property, so you can stay connected whenever you need to; mobile phone signal is patchier this deep in the jungle. Most guests end up switching off, and the setting makes a real digital detox easy if that is what you came for.
Can I bring my pet?
Two dogs, Sol and Luna, live at Lunita — they walked out of the jungle the week of our first retreat and never left. We do not have a set policy for guests bringing their own animals, so if you would like to travel with a pet, get in touch and we will talk honestly through what is possible. Contact us.
Is the property sustainable?
Deeply. Lunita runs on 100% solar power, draws its water from the cenote, processes waste through a biodigester, and didn't cut a single tree during construction. We've planted more than 5,000. Read more.
Can I swim?
Yes. There's a cenote-fed pool on the property, and a private cenote about ten minutes away that we can arrange to visit.
Is Lunita wheelchair accessible?
Lunita is a jungle property with natural, uneven terrain and walking paths between spaces. We want to be honest rather than overpromise, so if you have specific accessibility needs, contact us and we'll tell you exactly what's possible. contact us.

Ceremonies & Plant Medicine

What ceremonies do you offer?
Seven: cacao, temazcal, sacred mushrooms, ayahuasca, bufo, kambo, and peyote, from the gentlest to the most profound. See all ceremonies.
Are ceremonies required?
Never. Nothing at Lunita is required. You choose what's part of your retreat, and a retreat with no ceremonies at all is completely welcome.
Can I do a retreat without any plant medicine?
Of course. Many people do. Cacao, temazcal, sound healing, yoga, breathwork, and much more are all available with no plant medicine involved at all.
How do you keep plant-medicine ceremonies safe?
Every plant-medicine ceremony begins with an intake call to go through your health and history, followed by preparation, experienced facilitators holding the ceremony itself, and integration afterward. Some health conditions and medications mean we won't hold a ceremony, and we'll always tell you honestly. How we hold this work.
Who leads the ceremonies?
Facilitators with real lineage and training. The plant medicines are held by Edgar, a Zapotec medicine man local to Puerto Morelos who carries several Indigenous Mexican lineages. Meet the facilitators.
Can anyone participate in a ceremony?
Plant-medicine ceremonies are for adults, and participation depends on the intake. Certain health conditions and medications are contraindicated. If a ceremony isn't right or isn't safe for you, we'll say so. That honesty is part of how we work.

Getting Here & Practical

Do you arrange airport transport?
Yes. We arrange transfers from Cancún International Airport for both group and personal retreats. We'll coordinate the details with you once your dates are set.
How far is the airport?
About 40 minutes. Cancún International is the closest airport, and it's an easy drive to Lunita. See how to get here.
Do I need a visa to visit Mexico for a retreat?
Most travelers from the US, Canada, the UK, the EU, and Australia do not need a visa for a tourist stay in Mexico, but everyone still completes a tourist entry permit (the FMM / entry record) on arrival, and requirements depend on your nationality and can change. Always confirm your own case with Mexico's official immigration authority (INM).
What should I bring?
Light, comfortable clothing, something warmer for evenings and ceremonies, swimwear, reef-safe sunscreen, and insect repellent. We'll send fuller guidance once your retreat is booked, and you can read the full packing guide.
What's the weather like?
Tropical, warm and humid throughout the year, with short bursts of rain more common in the summer and autumn months. The jungle stays green and alive in every season.
Are children welcome?
Yes. Families and children are warmly welcome at Lunita. We host families already and it works beautifully. (Plant-medicine ceremonies remain for adults only.)
Is it safe?
Puerto Morelos is one of the calmer corners of the Riviera Maya, and the property itself is private and quietly secure. Most guests are struck by how peaceful it feels.
Is it safe for a woman travelling solo?
Yes — solo women come to Lunita regularly, and it is one of the stays we hold most often. It is a small, private property with staff who live on site and a shared table that fills with other guests. Puerto Morelos is one of the calmer parts of the Riviera Maya, and normal travel precautions still apply.
