Host a Sacred Medicine, Holistic & Wellness Retreat in Mexico

Host a Retreat in Mexico, Lunita Jungle Retreat, Riviera Maya, Mexico

If you lead sacred medicine, holistic, or wellness retreats, the setting makes or breaks the experience, and Lunita Jungle Retreat in the Riviera Maya is built to be that container. This is a practical guide for retreat leaders: why Mexico works, what to plan for, and how Lunita supports you from first inquiry to on-site delivery. (See also how hosting works and why Lunita.)

Why Mexico for a retreat

Mexico offers a rare combination: living Indigenous healing traditions (Mayan ritual, cacao, sacred medicine), breathtaking natural settings from jungle to beach, and strong accessibility, international airports and modern infrastructure with a secluded, peaceful atmosphere. The Riviera Maya in particular is easy to reach yet feels worlds away.

What to plan for

The essentials any retreat leader should weigh: legal and safety considerations (visas, health, ceremony protocols, Lunita guides you through these), the right location for your group's intentions, and accessibility (Lunita is 40 minutes from Cancún International Airport, with transfers available).

Why Lunita is the venue

An immersive, tranquil jungle setting; eco-friendly and fully solar-powered with cenote-sourced water; purpose-built sacred spaces for meditation and ceremony; comfortable nature-immersed accommodations; and hands-on support for leaders. You're not renting a space, you're gaining a partner.

How Lunita supports you

Before: shaping your retreat goals and structure, scheduling and logistics, a personalized menu by onsite chef Umberto, and active promotion (social, a website feature, newsletter). On-site: a 24/7 dedicated retreat manager and comprehensive help with everything from setting up spaces to coordinating ceremonies and excursions.

The four gifts for every retreat leader

As a thank-you, every hosted retreat includes a Blessing Ceremony (a sacred ritual led by Grandfather Juan), a one-hour professional photoshoot, a tree-planting ceremony, and a "hug ceremony" where each guest receives a custom handprint t-shirt, small rituals that make the bonds tangible.

In short

Frequently asked questions

What types of retreats can I host at Lunita?

A wide range, yoga, meditation, breathwork, sacred medicine, transformational healing, holistic wellness, sound healing, and creative retreats, plus personal-growth workshops and plant-medicine ceremonies. Unusual ideas are welcome; the team will discuss how to support your vision.

What's included in a venue package?

Depending on your needs: eco-friendly lodging in private jungle cabanas, healthy locally sourced meals by onsite chef Umberto with customizable menus, access to sacred spaces (yoga shala, temazcal, open-air meditation area), wellness facilities (cold plunge, temazcal, jungle gym), coordination of excursions/ceremonies/workshops, and a dedicated retreat manager.

Do you help organize sacred medicine ceremonies?

Yes. Lunita works with experienced, trusted facilitators to coordinate ceremonies safely and respectfully, ayahuasca, peyote (Wixárika-led), bufo, mushrooms, or others, matched to your retreat's vision and ethics, with comfortable spaces for integration. This is not legal advice; the medicines occupy different legal places in Mexico.

How many guests can Lunita host?

The property holds eight private jungle cabanas (each with a queen and a twin bed for shared or private occupancy) plus a mini-apartment, accommodating up to 20 guests. Intentionally limited capacity keeps every retreat private and immersive.

What are the best months to host in the Riviera Maya?

October to May offers warm, sunny, dry weather ideal for outdoor activities, avoiding the rainy/hurricane season. June and September can also work well, with more availability and booking flexibility.
