You're Caring for Everyone Else. But Who Is Caring for You?
There's a particular kind of exhaustion that mothers and caregivers know intimately.
It's not just physical fatigue. It's the constant vigilance. The invisible labor. The emotional tracking of everyone's needs, moods, schedules, and wellbeing. Even when you finally sit down, your nervous system often doesn't.
You may already be doing "all the right things." Yoga. Therapy. Breathwork. Supplements. Meditation apps. Maybe even the occasional massage when you can squeeze it in.
And yet, underneath it all, you still feel anxious, overwhelmed, touched out. Burnt out.
Contrary to what others are probably telling you, the solution isn't *more* self-care. The solution is rooted in changing the way you relate to your body and your nervous system in the present moment, altogether.
Because your body has adapted to survival.
This Isn't Another Retreat That Hands You More Tools
Call of the Wild — A Somatic Experience for Caregivers & Space Holders is not another retreat that gives you more strategies to manage stress. This transformative week holds space for you to experience somatic practices that fundamentally shift your relationship with your body, your energy, and your capacity to engage with life differently.
Inspired by the teachings of Somatic Experiencing, this retreat explores how unresolved stress patterns live in the nervous system — and how we heal them for good.
Beyond that, what we do with our newfound life energy is our choice. We can confidently step back into the role of caregiver without the fear of burnout, blurry boundaries, or chronic over-giving.
Why Somatic Work Reaches What "Self-Care" Can't
Most wellness advice treats burnout as a scheduling problem: do more yoga, book more massages, download another app. But burnout in caregivers and space holders is rarely a time-management issue. It's a nervous-system pattern.
When you've spent years staying alert to everyone else's needs, your body learns to live in a low-grade state of survival. Somatic work — working *with* the body rather than just talking about it — is how those patterns finally release. That's the difference between *managing* stress and actually changing the conditions that create it.
Step Away. Reconnect. Remember Yourself.
Deep in the jungles of Mexico this January, you'll step away from the endless demands of caregiving and reconnect with something many mothers have forgotten: **yourself.**
The real you, underneath the survival patterns.
Surrounded by lush jungle, warm ocean air, and the grounding energy of the earth at https://www.lunitajungleretreat.com/our-approach, you'll move through somatic practices, daily movement, intentionally prepared meals, a traditional Mexican blessing ceremony, a private cenote, and structured, sacred rest — all designed to bring your nervous system home.
This retreat is for mothers, caregivers, and space holders who are ready to stop *managing* burnout and start changing the deeper patterns that create it.
We hope you join us.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is this retreat for?
This retreat is designed for mothers, caregivers, and "space holders" — the people who spend their days holding everyone else, including therapists, nurses, teachers, healers, and parents. If you feel anxious, touched out, or burnt out despite "doing all the right things," this week was built for you. No prior somatic or yoga experience is required.
What is Somatic Experiencing, and how is it different from regular self-care?
Somatic Experiencing is a body-based approach to releasing unresolved stress and survival patterns that live in the nervous system. Unlike traditional self-care — which adds more activities to an already full plate — somatic work changes *how you relate to your body in the present moment*. The goal isn't to manage stress better; it's to shift the underlying nervous-system patterns that create burnout in the first place.
When and where does the retreat take place?
The retreat runs January 21–26, 2027 (five nights) at Lunita Jungle Retreat Center in Puerto Morelos, Riviera Maya, Mexico — about 40 minutes from Cancún International Airport. You'll be immersed in protected tropical jungle with a yoga shala, pool, temazcal, and access to a private cenote.
What's included in the price?
This is an all-inclusive retreat starting at $2,450 per person. Your investment covers five nights of accommodation at Lunita, three local and/or organic meals per day, round-trip transportation to and from Cancún International Airport, and all retreat experiences — daily movement and yoga, somatic practices, a traditional Mexican blessing ceremony, a private cenote tour, an on-site temazcal, and group excursions. The cost is per person, not per cabana.
Do I need to be experienced in yoga or somatic practice to attend?
No. All movement and somatic practices are accessible to beginners and adaptable to your body. You don't need to arrive "ready" — you only need to show up. The entire week is curated so you can let go of planning and controlling, and simply be held.
How do I reserve my spot, and are payment plans available?
A 50% deposit reserves your place; after that, you'll choose a private or shared cabana and receive a welcome packet. Payment plans are available, with balances paid in even monthly installments. Early incentives apply: the first five guests to register save $300, and referring a friend earns $100 off for both of you.
