I'm Joe. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience working at the intersection of education, trauma, and emotional development. I'm also the founder of Real U Behavioral Health Consulting — a Black-owned therapy practice that exists specifically to bring healing to the BIPOC community without shame, gatekeeping, or pretense.
But more than my credentials, I want you to know this: my work is personal.
I didn't just study trauma. I've lived through it. My own healing journey — the honest, sometimes humbling, sometimes beautiful work of becoming who I actually am — is the foundation of everything I do professionally. I don't ask my clients to go where I haven't been willing to go myself.
At TRU Reset, I bring that same grounded, intentional leadership. My approach blends psychological insight with embodied practice. I believe in accountability, honesty, and creating spaces where Black men and women can rest without apology and grow without performance.
