We are honored to share this post by Joe Corley, LPC — licensed professional counselor, founder of Real U Behavioral Health Consulting, and creator of TRU Reset, a healing retreat hosted here at Lunita Jungle Retreat.
I know what you're thinking. "A retreat sounds great, but what does that actually mean? What am I going to be doing for five days?"
That's a fair question, and you deserve a real answer — not vague wellness language that sounds good but tells you nothing.
Here's what TRU Reset actually looks like, day by day, at Lunita Jungle Retreat in Puerto Morelos, Mexico.
TRU Reset Day 1: Arrive & Land
The first day is simple: you get to arrive. Fully. Not in a hurry. Not performing. Just land.
We'll share a meal together, set intentions, and establish what we call community agreements — the foundation of trust that makes everything else possible. By evening, you'll already feel the shift. Something settles when you're in a room full of people who get it.
TRU Reset Day 2: Reset the Nervous System
Day two is where the work begins — gently. We open with Kemetic Yoga and breathwork, practices rooted in African tradition that help your body release what your mind has been holding.
Then we move into a workshop and an Emotional Awareness Session — space to name what you've been carrying and start to understand why it feels the way it does.
The evening closes with a candlelight circle. Come as you are.
TRU Reset Day 3: Feel Without Shame
This is the heart of the retreat. Day three is built around emotional expansion — giving yourself permission to actually feel things without immediately explaining them away or apologizing for them.
A somatic release session helps your body process what it can't always put into words. Optional one-on-one check-ins are available in the afternoon for those who want them. No pressure. No agenda.
TRU Reset Day 4: Identity & Purpose
Who are you underneath the pressure? Underneath the role you play at work, at home, in your community?
Day four explores identity and purpose through a morning ocean meditation, a deep workshop, and one of the most memorable experiences of the retreat: a cenote excursion and cultural exploration through the Mayan Yucatan.
Imagine floating in a sacred underground pool, surrounded by ancient natural limestone. That's not an exaggeration — that is actually what we'll do.
TRU Reset Day 5: Rest, Joy & Integration
You've done the work. Now you get to enjoy it.
Day five is about restoration and joy — time at the beach, optional bodywork, solitude, and an all-white celebration dinner with music and laughter. Because healing isn't supposed to be all seriousness. Joy is part of the medicine.
TRU Reset Day 6: Rise & Return
You don't just leave. You integrate. The final day includes a grounding morning practice, a closing circle, and personal action planning — so you walk out with more than a feeling. You walk out with a direction.
Every day is designed to build on the last, moving you from regulation to reflection to restoration — and finally, to return.
