How to prepare for a plant-medicine retreat

The week before a plant-medicine retreat matters as much as the ceremony itself. Preparation is mostly about simplifying: lighter food, less noise, an honest intention, and a conversation with your doctor about anything you take. Here is how to arrive ready.

Prepare the body

In the days before, eat lighter and cleaner, ease off caffeine and alcohol, and rest. You may have heard of the dieta, the traditional simplifying of food and habits before ceremony. It is less about strictness and more about lightening the load. We send you specifics in your intake.

Prepare the mind

Set an intention, even a simple one. Lower the input in the days before, write a little, and tell someone you trust what you are doing. Arriving settled changes the whole week.

The medical conversation

Some medications, especially certain antidepressants, can interact with certain medicines. This is a doctor conversation, not a guess. We screen carefully, and we will tell you honestly if something is not safe.

We send clear guidance. It is about simplifying in the days before, not punishing yourself.

Please talk to your doctor, and tell us in your intake. We take this seriously and screen for it.

How early should I start preparing?

About a week is plenty for most people.
