A couples retreat at Lunita is quiet, private, and shaped around the two of you. It is not a resort package or a group program; it is time set aside in the jungle to slow down together, with the days built around what you are looking for. This guide is for couples planning a retreat in the Riviera Maya: what it feels like, what it can include, and when in the year to come.
What a couples retreat at Lunita includes
Every retreat here is shaped individually, so a couples retreat is planned with you rather than sold as a fixed itinerary. Most couples weave quiet time together with a ceremony or two, held on their own terms: a temazcal in the Mexican and Nahuatl tradition, or a cacao ceremony. The setting does much of the work. Lunita is around 5,000 square meters of built space immersed in more than 80,000 square meters of preserved jungle in Puerto Morelos, on the Ruta de los Cenotes, about forty minutes from Cancún airport. It runs on solar power, off-grid, with the pool fed by cenote water and a private partner cenote about ten minutes away.
When to come: the best months
There is no bad time to come to the Riviera Maya jungle, but the seasons each have a feel. Roughly, November to April is drier and a little cooler, and May to October is greener, warmer, and wetter. For couples, the quieter green season can feel more private, while the dry season is easier on the weather.
The drier season, November to April
Comfortable temperatures, lower humidity, and the most popular window. The jungle is still lush, with less rain to plan around. If you want easy weather, this is it.
The green season, May to October
Hot, humid, and fully alive. Expect short, heavy showers rather than all-day rain, fewer people, and the jungle at its richest. The cenotes feel like a gift in this season.
How to choose
It comes down to comfort, solitude, and timing. The dry season is easy and busier. The green season is intense and quieter. Both have their own kind of beauty, and we help you choose when you reach out.
