Sound healing & vibrational massage is a multisensory therapy where Tibetan singing bowls and therapeutic touch work together to melt stress, release stored tension, and restore balance. At Lunita in Puerto Morelos, the stillness of the jungle and the care of skilled facilitators amplify the experience, you'll leave lighter, clearer, and more connected to yourself. Here's what it involves. (For the standalone practice, see sound healing.)

What does a masaje con cuencos session blend?

On-body and around-body bowls: Tibetan (and sometimes crystal) bowls are placed on areas like the back, abdomen, and hands; gentle striking or circling produces low-frequency vibrations that travel through the tissues and fluids. Conscious therapeutic massage: long, slow strokes, gentle holds, and targeted pressure help unwind fascia, mobilize circulation, and soothe overactive muscles. Breath and intention: you're guided to match breath with sound while setting a simple intention, ease, clarity, renewal, followed by integration rest.

Why it works

The combination of direct vibration and hands-on touch supports the body's relaxation response more fully than either alone, a tactile "deep reset" experienced honestly as profound relaxation rather than a medical treatment. Many guests describe a settled, spacious calm that lingers.

The setting

Held in Lunita's open-air spaces amid the jungle's quiet, it pairs naturally with temazcal, cacao, and the rhythm of a personal retreat. If you're drawn to subtler frequency work, shamanic Reiki and BioTuning pairs energy work with sound-frequency tools, offered as a calming, reflective practice rather than treatment.

In short

Frequently asked questions

What is sound healing & vibrational massage?

Singing bowls placed on the body, struck gently, combined with slow therapeutic massage and breath. A multisensory session where Tibetan (and sometimes crystal) singing bowls are placed on and around the body, on the back, abdomen, and hands, while gentle striking sends low-frequency vibrations through the tissues, combined with conscious therapeutic massage (slow strokes, gentle holds, targeted pressure) and breath. You'll leave lighter, clearer, and more settled.

How does vibrational massage differ from a sound bath?

In a sound bath the instruments are played around you; here, on-body bowls send vibration directly through the body while hands-on massage unwinds the fascia and soothes the muscles, a more tactile, integrated 'deep reset.'

Is it safe, and how long is a session?

Yes for most people; a pacemaker or a specific condition means checking with your provider first. Sessions include time to settle, the bowl-and-massage work, and integration rest.
